FOSS-Bridge matchmaking team

A new matchmaking team has been set up in order to further support the cooperation process between European and Vietnamese participants in FOSS-Bridge.

What are the services provided by the matchamking team?

  •  Support twinned companies in communication and other challenges in their cooperations with  Vietnamese and European counterparts under the FOSS-bridge project
  • Answer questions of Vietnamese and European partners related to business start up in Vietnam and business cooperation especially in the field of FOSS
  • Broker questions to technical issues related to FOSS, covered in the intermediary training
  • Support Vietnamese companies to get access to international technical FOSS-networks

About Barbara Cimpa

Barbara studied Computer Science in Munich, Germany. Before her studies of Computer Science, Barbara had learnt secretary for foreign languages (English, French) in Munich. At the moment, Barbara follows a distant study program for Digital library development and management in Sweden. After working  10 years in the computer science department in Germany’s 2nd bank, Barbara had the chance to participate in a program for management experience in South East Asia, organized by InWEnt.
Since then, 2004, Barbara has been wor-king in a software development company in Ho Chi Minh city (www.psdus.com), as pro-ject manager, QA director and consultant.
Besides being responsible for process development, training and company communication, Barbara bridges the communication to clients in Europe, Japan and the US. Barbara went to the FOSS-Bridge twinning workshop to share her experiences.  Barbara speaks Vietnamese.

 

About Jochen Nessel

Jochen studied Computer Science in Kaiserslautern, Germany. After earning his PhD in theoretical computer science, he continued to work as researcher in the field of theore-tical computer science and its applications,  among others for the German Science Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft).
Jochen moved to Vietnam in 2002 to work for the German organisation CIM as consultant for (e-)business. With these experiences, he decided to open a software development company in Vietnam, EdgeWorks Software ltd. EdgeWorks (www.edge-works.net) focus onresearch and software development, based on FOSS, for clients in Vietnam and in Germany.
Besides his responsibilities as owner and managing director of EdgeWorks, Jochen works as advisor for business development and lecturer for computer science for the VCCI (Vietnamese chamber of Commerce and Industry). Jochen also suppor-ted IT-related projects of InWEnt in Vietnam as advisor. Jochen speaks Vietnamese.
